Rainbow Petrified Wood
About Us:
My name is Tom Ruhkala. In 2018 my wife Linda and I retired from full-time missionary work in Finland after 40 years. Our primary residence was in Alaska, and we spent the winters in Arizona. We have recently moved to Huntsville, Alabama to be near our son and family. We still operate the business from Huntsville. While in Arizona we discovered the amazing beauty of petrified wood. Arizona has some of the most beautiful petrified wood in the world. This is why it is the official Arizona State fossil. An older Arizona resident taught me the skill of wet grinding and contour polishing petrified wood. It started out as a hobby, but in 2021 we established Rainbow Petrified Wood, LLC. People recognize the unique beauty of contour polished petrified wood. It takes a lot of work, but in the end, you have a piece of art you can hold in your hands. These products are authentic and substantial. Each piece is from an ancient world we can only imagine. I specialize in grinding and polishing large pieces. Some weigh over a ton. Most are 10 to 50 pounds. If you want something that won’t rust out or wear out, consider my polished stones of petrified wood.

The stones displayed are not my total inventory. They are rather representative of my full inventory. Shipping and packing costs are extra and determined by weight and distance shipped. We can give you a shipping cost estimate, and this cost must be paid in full before shipping. These stones are heavy. We are not responsible for injuries you may sustain in moving or lifting them. We will hopefully answer all questions and work with you to resolve any anticipated problems before shipment, but all sales are final.
