My name is Tom Ruhkala. In 2018 my wife Linda and I retired from full-time missionary work in Finland after 40 years. Our primary residence was in Alaska, and we spent the winters in Arizona. We have recently moved to Huntsville, Alabama to be near our son and family. We still operate the business from Huntsville. While in Arizona we discovered the amazing beauty of petrified wood. Arizona has some of the most beautiful petrified wood in the world. This is why it is the official Arizona State fossil. An older Arizona resident taught me the skill of wet grinding and contour polishing petrified wood. It started out as a hobby, but in 2021 we established Rainbow Petrified Wood, LLC. People recognize the unique beauty of contour polished petrified wood. It takes a lot of work, but in the end, you have a piece of art you can hold in your hands. These products are authentic and substantial. Each piece is from an ancient world we can only imagine. I specialize in grinding and polishing large pieces. Some weigh over a ton.
